MY DOUBLE PAGE AND FRONT COVER FLAT PLAN
To get an idea about how grime magazines were laid out I then started reconstructing flat plans to give me a brief idea how I was going to set out my grime magazine, and get an idea about colour schemes I could use. This helped me a lot as it gave me the ideas I needed to star my magazine and made me realise how I was going to do this task. Also by drawing flat plans of the double page spread, front cover and contents page it made it easier to position things on my magazine which meant it was actually useful. overal I am happy with my flat plans because they made the task easier and made me understand how much easier the task could be by drawing these.
MY SURVEY
I carried out the following survey to see what age group mostly listened to grime music and if there was a grime magazine would they read it. The finale bit of beforehand research I carried out was surveys. This was for me to get the idea of which title I should use and the colour schemes that would suit grime the most. I also carried out this research to see if people actually knew about the Grime genre and if they felt as if Grime was just seen as a UK version of Hip-Hop.

WHY "IGRIME"
The name of my magazine is called I Grime; it is called this for many reasons and has a lot of things to the name. One of the reasons I picked this name is because it makes the magazine seem personal too all grime fans as it says I Grime. The I make it out as it is just for you and that you are the cause of the production of the magazine. The name also is very catchy and is also very short and snappy. Another name I was thinking of was you grime but I Grime just had a better ring to it and there are also more images I can link with the letter I then you.
READER PROFILE
Ryan is a 16 year old boy who lives in Brixton in south London . He goes to a
local secondary school near his home and is currently doing his GCSE. Ryan is
interested in music and how it is distributed so he isn’t sure if he should
take media at A level. In his spare time Ryan likes to play football with his
friends and go to a lot of parties. The type of music Ryan is commonly exposed
to is UK Grime, R&B, Hip-Hop, Funky house and Bashment, these are all
popular genres in the UK urban scene and in the
area Ryan lives in the majority of people listen to these types of
music. Some of Ryan’s favorite artist is UK Grime artist Sneakbo and American
Hip-Hop artist Drake. Ryan says that he is inspired by the Grime artist Sneakbo
as he came from the same estate he lives on and by posting music videos on Youtube
he has now been noticed and has songs now on Itunes, choice fm radio station and
TV.
The reason my magazine would have a reader of this
background is because the person would have to understand the real UK grime scene
and would have to be able to relate to the hard life and background of the
artist. Another reason why this would be my typical reader is because they
would also listen to genres such as Hip-Hop and understand the link between the
UK
grime scene and the international World known Hip-Hop scene. The final reason
why that would be my typical reader is because the main age group who listens
to grime is between 14-24 and a 16 year old would be a typical interested in
that genre

SEMIOTICS AND THE EFFECT IT GIVES

From the semiotics on this page you can tell that the magazine is to do with
sex. The colours used on the magazines cover lines also show which articles are
more important than others; the main article is about Scorcher and this is
written in white, whereas some of the other cover lines are written in black
and in smaller fonts.
